This Friday night, at 8:30 pm, Parashat Vayeshev, 12/12, Kehillat Yedidya is joining Kehillot Zion, Hakhel and Kol HaNeshama for an evening of Piyut and songs after dinner.

We wish the best of luck to our members Penny and Dan Wities who will be returning to their new home in Raanana. We enjoyed having them here at Yedidya for the past three years and hope that they will return often to visit.

בשבת הבאה פרשת תולדות נארח את הרב יוסף בלאו מישיבה יוניברסיטי לשבת עיון. הוא ידבר על “מוסר היהדות בעת מלחמה.” ההרצאה תתחיל בשעה 11:15, אחרי קידוש.
Next Shabbat, Parashat Toldot, Rabbi Yosef Blau of Yeshiva University will be our guest speaker for a Shabbat Iyun. He will speak in Hebrew about Jewish Morality in War. The lecture will begin at 11:15 after Kiddush.

The communities of southern Jerusalem gather together for “Mishmeret 101 Shomeret Shabbat,” for prayer, silence, and singing.
At 11:45pm, at the Oranim Junction.
The Mishmeret in the summer will be 30 minutes to 12:15.
Also in the Genenim neighborhood – at 11:30 In the square of Tipat Halav on Eliezer Hagadol.
During the Shabbatot of summer, there will be shading (halachically adapted) at the Mishmeret. Please assist in holding the poles. It is recommended to bring a hat and water.
Come dressed in white and spread the word
Following the silent initiative of the hostages’ mothers. In a spirit of mutual responsibility for the sake of completing the next stages of the deal and the return of all the hostages.

Two special Shiurim will be offered at Kehillat Yedidya on Tisha B’Av.
On Saturday Night, after the reading of Megillat Eicha, R. Alieza Salzberg Yizhar will speak on the topic of Voices from the Ruins: Pain and Resilience in the Halakhic Literature.
The Journey to Heal the Nation
Between Mincha and Arvit, a discussion will take place with Merav Leshem Gonen, the mother of Yarden, Shahaf, Romi, Daria, and Adam. Following Romi’s kidnapping, she embarked on a healing journey around the country. Merav chose her path in the fight to bring Romi and all the hostages back, through dialogue, Jewish values, and Zionism.
The discussion, supported by the Baka Community Center and the Hadar Institute, will involve additional communities from the neighborhood.
