New: Protection committee 

A few months ago, the community decided to establish a protection committee within Yedidya.

What is a protection committee?

With the growing awareness of the prevalence of sexual assault and harassment in society, in recent years many communities across the country have established protection committees. These communities include localities and kibbutzim, schools and synagogues.

The committees work mainly on two levels:

1. As a resource for thinking about how to ensure that the community will be a safe place for all its members.

2. In the event of harm or harassment within the community, to assist and refer those involved to appropriate professional care.

The purpose of this letter is to inform community members about the existence of the committee and invite them to contact us with any issue or question they deem appropriate. Needless to say, any inquiry will be handled with sensitivity and complete discretion.

As stated, this is a new committee within Yedidya. Later, if necessary, we will issue another letter with more details.
